SlimStart Breakfasts- Weightloss breakfast recipes

Research has shown that there is a significant connection between eating breakfast and achieving & maintaining a healthy weight. Here's how breakfast can contribute to weight loss:

  1. Kick-starts Your Metabolism: Eating breakfast helps jumpstart your metabolism, enabling your body to start burning calories right from the morning. This process, known as thermogenesis, helps increase your overall calorie expenditure throughout the day.
  2. Reduces Hunger and Cravings: Having a nutritious breakfast can help reduce hunger and curb cravings later in the day. This means you're less likely to reach for unhealthy snacks or overeat during lunch or dinner.
  3. Improves Portion Control: When you skip breakfast, you might become so hungry later that you end up eating larger portions or choosing high-calorie foods. A healthy breakfast can help you manage portion sizes and make healthier food choices throughout the day.
  4. Enhances Energy Levels and Physical Activity: A balanced breakfast provides the energy needed to stay active and productive. Higher energy levels can lead to increased physical activity, which is a key component of weight loss and maintenance.

Nourishing Mom, Nurturing Baby-diet for a breast feeding mother

The health of a mother is paramount during breastfeeding, as it directly influences both her well-being and her baby's development. Adequate nutrition and hydration ensure that she can produce sufficient, high-quality milk, rich in essential nutrients crucial for the infant's growth and immune system. Good health helps maintain her energy levels, enabling her to cope with the physical demands of breastfeeding and caregiving.

Additionally, emotional support is vital too, as that help mitigate stress and prevent conditions like postpartum depression, ensuring a nurturing environment for the baby. Ultimately, a healthy mother is better equipped to provide optimal care and bonding, laying a strong foundation for her child's future well-being.  If you are a new mother our diet plan would definitely help you to maintain your required energy level and to produce sufficient milk here you should know a fact that if being a breast feeding mother anytime you are bloated or having problems like gas or indigestion that has nothing to do with your baby’s health, there is no scientific evidence that if you are having digestion issues your baby will also have the same Colic pain. An infant’s digestive system is never connected to the mother’s digestive health

All Rule of Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting is a beneficial approach to eating that can help with weight management and overall health. However, it's important to find a method that works for you and to approach it in a way that supports your individual health needs and lifestyle. Always, it's a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your eating habits, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern that alternates between periods of fasting and eating. Along with focusing on what to eat, intermittent fasting focuses on when to eat.

How IF works?

When our body is in fasting periods, the body first uses up its glycogen stores (stored form of glucose in the liver and muscles) for energy. Once glycogen stores are depleted, the body starts breaking down stored fat into fatty acids and converting them into ketone bodies in the liver.

Fasting for more than 12 hours increases the levels of hormones like norepinephrine, which enhance the breakdown of fat and the release of fatty acids from fat stores. This further supports the shift to fat metabolism and ketone production. This entire process called Ketosis and when ketosis happens our body fat starts melting. So basically in IF when you fast for more than 12 hours, then ketosis process starts melting your fat. But this ketosis process has a byproduct called ketone. Over deposition of ketone is harmful for human body specially for our renal system, so taking periodic break in between IF is recommended.

Manage PCOD and PCOS with Diet

PCOD is a condition where the ovaries contain many immature or partially mature eggs, which over time become cysts. Because of hormonal imbalance eggs don’t get mature. This can lead to an enlargement of the ovaries

Symptoms of PCOD include:

  • Irregular menstrual cycles
  • Weight gain
  • Acne
  • Hair thinning
  • Excessive hair growth on the face and body

PCOS is a broader endocrine disorder that affects multiple systems in the body. PCOS is more serious than PCOD and at this stage ovulation stopped which cause infertility. It is characterized by the presence of multiple cysts in the ovaries and is associated with various symptoms and health issues, such as:

  • Irregular or absent menstrual periods
  • Excess androgen levels, leading to symptoms like hirsutism (excess hair growth), acne, and male-pattern baldness
  • Polycystic ovaries
  • Insulin resistance and an increased risk of type 2 diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Infertility

Main Causes of PCOD and PCOS

Several factors are believed to contribute to these conditions cause of PCOD and PCOS.

  1. Genetics: There is often a family history of PCOD/PCOS, suggesting a genetic component.
  2. Insulin Resistance: Many women with PCOD/PCOS have insulin resistance, leading to higher blood sugar levels, which can increase androgen production and interfere with normal ovulation.
  3. Hormonal Imbalance: An imbalance in hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and androgens can disrupt the normal menstrual cycle and cause the symptoms associated with PCOD and PCOS.
  4. Inflammation: Low-grade inflammation can stimulate polycystic ovaries by producing excess androgens, leading to symptoms like acne and hirsutism.
  5. Lifestyle Factors: Poor diet, lack of exercise, and stress levels play the most crucial role in the development of these conditions. Genetic factors, inflammation or insulin resistance can be controlled by right diet and healthy lifestyle. Stress is the root cause of all lifestyle diseases, to control stress you can consider coaches and therapist for help.

Here at LivewithSubarna we designed a diet plan specifically to help women manage and alleviate the symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Our diet plan focuses on nutrient-dense foods that balance hormones, reduce inflammation, and support healthy weight management. Premenstrual Syndrome, commonly known as PMS. This affects many women, yet it is often misunderstood and under-discussed. Our goal is to shed light on what PMS is, its symptoms, its impact, and ways to manage it effectively.

What is PMS?

Premenstrual Syndrome refers to a combination of physical, emotional, and psychological symptoms that many women experience around one week before their menstrual period begins. These symptoms can vary widely from woman to woman and can range from mild to severe.

Symptoms of PMS:

PMS symptoms can be categorized into two main types: physical and emotional.

  1. Physical Symptoms:
    • Bloating and weight gain

    • Depression or feelings of sadness
    • Anxiety

For some women, PMS can be a minor inconvenience. However, for others, it can be debilitating and significantly impact daily life, work, and relationships. Understanding and recognizing the symptoms can help in managing them effectively.

HarmonyHer - All about menopause and how to make it easy

Menopause is a natural biological process marking the end of a woman's menstrual cycles and reproductive years. It is officially diagnosed after a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average age being around 51.

Phases of Menopause

  1. Perimenopause: The transitional period leading up to menopause, often lasting 1-5 years. During perimenopause, women may experience irregular menstrual cycles and symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and mood changes due to fluctuating hormone levels.
  2. Menopause: The point in time when a woman has not had a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months. This marks the end of menstrual cycles and fertility.
  3. Postmenopause: The phase after menopause, where symptoms may continue for some time but usually decrease in severity. The risk of certain health conditions, such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease, increases during this stage due to lower hormone levels.

Causes of Menopause

Menopause is primarily caused by the natural decline in reproductive hormones as a woman ages. Key factors include:

  • Aging and Ovarian Function: As women age, their ovaries gradually produce less estrogen and progesterone, the hormones that regulate menstruation and ovulation. This decline in hormone production leads to the cessation of menstrual cycles.
  • Genetics: The age at which menopause begins can be influenced by genetics. If your mother or sisters experienced early or late menopause, you might too.
  • Health Conditions: Certain health conditions, like autoimmune diseases or thyroid disorders, can affect ovarian function and lead to early menopause.

Symptoms of Menopause

Menopause can bring a variety of physical and emotional symptoms due to changing hormone levels. Common symptoms include:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats
  • Irregular periods or cessation of periods
  • Vaginal dryness and discomfort during intercourse
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Mood swings, anxiety, or depression
  • Weight gain and slowed metabolism
  • Thinning hair and dry skin
  • Decreased bone density

Managing Menopause

Menopause is a natural part of aging, but its symptoms can often be managed through lifestyle changes and right diet. Staying active, maintaining a balanced diet, and seeking support from coaches and therapists can help a woman navigate this transition more comfortably.

At Live with Subarna we make a guideline regarding food and lifestyle choices to make it easy to cope up with the changes. So subscribe us and make this transition easy for you.

Type 2 Diabetes Reboot Diet- reverse your diabetes with right food choice

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar (glucose). It occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin. Insulin is a hormone that regulates the movement of sugar into cells, where it is used for energy. When glucose builds up in the blood instead of being used by the cells, it can lead to serious health problems.

Several factors increases the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, including: Poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, excess body weight, age, genetics.

One of the most effective ways to prevent Type 2 diabetes is through proper nutrition. Eating a balanced diet can help maintain healthy blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of developing the disease.

Here’s how the right foods can make a difference:

  • Foods that have a low glycemic index (GI) help to prevent spikes in blood sugar levels. By choosing low-GI foods, you can keep your blood sugar levels stable, reducing the strain on your insulin-producing cells.
  • Eating a balanced diet helps to maintain a healthy weight, which is crucial for preventing Type 2 diabetes.
  • Certain foods can help improve insulin sensitivity, which is beneficial in preventing Type 2 diabetes. Omega-3 fatty acids, are known to enhance insulin sensitivity.
  • Chronic inflammation is a risk factor for insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes. Eating foods rich in antioxidants, such as berries, can help reduce inflammation and lower the risk of developing diabetes.
  • A diet that includes a balance of macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) is essential for overall health and diabetes prevention. Healthy fats, help to stabilize blood sugar levels and provide lasting energy.

Preventing Type 2 diabetes through proper nutrition is both effective and achievable. By making informed dietary choices, you can significantly reduce your risk of developing this chronic condition. A balanced diet rich in whole foods, healthy fats, lean proteins, and fiber not only helps in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels but also promotes overall well-being.
